you don't think the background on his website is a bit much for a violinist?
Indeed! I was thinking the same thing! Not sure who designed his website and what was the intention, or reasoning behind that, but it's certainly not appealing to my eyes, and yours obviously ;-)
A violinist like Joshua Bell would not need such color pattern to add "color" to his work and popularity

I would think that there's a reason behind it? One can only hope ;-)
